Bobby McClure was an American soul singer from Chicago.

He relocated to St. Louis as a child.

Bobby sang with The Soul Stirrers in the 1950’s.

He later sang with Bobby & the Vocals, Big Daddy Jenkins, and Oliver Sain.

Bobby was signed to Checker Records, a subsidiary of Chess Records.

He had two hit singles in the U.S. in 1965.

Bobby helped Little Milton and Fontella Bass with their careers.

In the 1970’s, Bobby worked in an Illinois jail as a corrections officer,.

Bobby had a brain aneurysm in 1992, and passed away in Los Angeles, from a resulting stroke.
