The Force MD's were originally formed in 1983, in Staten Island, New York, U.S.A.

The group were originally known as The L.D.'s, however, following meeting DJ Dr Rock, they changed their name again to 'Dr. Rock & the Force MCs'.

The Force MD's, hailed from the Mariners Harbor projects on Staten Island, New York City, and came to prominence in the 1980's and 1990’s.

In 1984 the group signed with Tommy Boy Records.

In 1985, the hit with the Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis-penned love song 'Tender Love'.

The group's track 'Itchin' For a Scratch' featured in the 1985 feature film 'Rappin'.

In 1987 the group achieved their first R&B number 1 hit, 'Love is a House', which was taken from their third album, 'Touch & Go'.

Previous group members, Charles ‘Mercury’ Nelson died from a heart attack in 1995, whilst Antoine ‘TCD’ Lundy battled Lou Gehrig’s disease before his passing away in 1998.

DJ Dr. Rock died suddenly of natural causes in 1996.

The remaining members returned with a comeback album titled 'The Reunion' in 2000.

In an interview in 2009, President Obama highlighted the Force M.D.s (among other artists included) in his Air Force One iPod playlist.

Trisco Smith-Pearson passed away on the 16th of September from cancer.

The surviving group members are: Khalil Lundy, Stevie Lundy and Jesse Daniels.
