Walter Ford (b. 5th September 1931, Lexington, Kentucky, U.S.A.) (tenor)
David Jones (b. 1931, Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A. d. 1995, U.S.A.) (second tenor)
and
Harry James (b. 1932, Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A.) (baritone)
The Rays were formed in New York in 1955.
They first recorded for Chess Records.
Their biggest hit single was 'Silhouettes', which reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1957.

'Silhouettes' sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc, and was covered by Herman's Hermits in 1965, and Bob Dylan.
A Philly version was also recorded by the Phiiladelphia International group, the Futures.
