Kinsman Dazz

Formed in Los Angeles in 1977, Kinsman Dazz comprised of:

Wayne Preston (alto sax and background vocals)

Les Thaler (trumpet)

Ed Myers III (trombone)

Bobby Harris (tenor and soprano sax)

Michael Wiley (bass)

Michael Calhoun ( lead guitar and solo's)

Isaac Wiley Jnr (drums and background vocals)

Reggie Stewart (electric and acoustic guitars)

and

Kenny Pettus (lead and background vocals)

Kinsman Dazz were originally known as Telephunk.

The band changed their name to The Dazz Band two years later.

Kinsman Dazz signed to the 20th Century label in the late 70's where they released two albums.

In 1978 and 1979 they had two Top 30 American R & B hits with 'Might As Well Forget About Lovin' and 'Catchin' Up On Love'.

The 1979 album 'Dazz' featured the guest musicians Paulinho Da Costa and Philip Bailey (Earth, Wind & Fire), with the track 'Love Design' being poular amongst U.K. soul fans.
