Tony Remy

b. Tony Remy, London, United Kingdom.

Tony Remy is a versatile musician learning to play piano, flute and saxophone, at an early age, before even picking up a guitar.

Tony was born in London, is of Caribbean heritage, and has become one of the most in-demand session and concert musicians as well as becoming a respected artist in his own right.

He formed the group Cube 60 while at college and stayed with the band when it grew into Desperately Seeking Fusion.

Following that point Tony formed the group Lateral Thinking and (along with the string quartet he formed called Stringology) created the soundtrack to the Mike Leigh film 'Career Girls'.

In 1992, Tony recorded two solo tracks for a compilation and released his first solo album, 'Boof!', two years later.

'Metamorfollow G' followed in 1998.

Tony's influences include George Benson, B.B. King, Mike Stern and even Jimi Hendrix!

Amongst some of the artists that he has either recorded or toured with include Courtney Pine, Jason Rebello, Julian Joseph, Freddie Hubbard, Lonnie Liston Smith, Lenny White, Omar, Ronnie Laws, Nelson Rangell and Maysa Leak.

In September 2001, Tony lined up with the legendary Lamont Dozier for a one off show at the Royal Festival Hall.
