Fonzi Thornton is a highly repected singer, songwriter and producer.
From New York, Fonzi established himself as a top session singer on the R & B scene of the late '70's and '80's.
His vocal credits can be found on albums by various artists including B.B.&Q., Chic, High Fashion, Luther Vandross, Howard Johnson, Aretha Franklin, AI Jarreau, Roxy Music, The O'Jays, BeBe Winans, Bob James, The Brecker Brothers, Candi Staton, Cheryl Lynn, David Bowie, Debbie Gibson, Diana Ross, Jody Watley, Patti Labelle, Mica Paris, R. Kelly, Vanessa Williams, and the System.
In 1983 he signed to RCA as a solo artist where he worked with producer Robert White on 'The Leader' (1983), including 'Happy Love Song'.
Chic's Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards appear on the album along with Kashif, Luther Vandross, Tawatha Agee, Doc Powell and Marcus Miller.
'Pumpin' followed in 1984 and included 'A Natural (Yesiree)'.
Fonzi and Robert also wrote and produced 'On Target' for The Jones Girls at RCA in 1983.
